DOT 5-Panel Drug Screening
A drug screening required by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT)
Service Description
A DOT drug test refers to a drug screening required by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for employees in safety-sensitive positions within the transportation industry. The primary aim is to ensure that these employees do not use illicit drugs or misuse prescription medications, which could impair their ability to perform their job safely and thereby jeopardize public safety. The DOT drug test screens for the following substances: Marijuana (THC) Cocaine Opiates (morphine, codeine, and heroin) Amphetamines and methamphetamines Phencyclidine (PCP) Types of Tests: Pre-employment Testing: Before hiring for a safety-sensitive position. Random Testing: Unpredictable, unannounced testing throughout the year. Post-Accident Testing: After certain types of accidents. Reasonable Suspicion Testing: If trained supervisors observe behaviors that suggest drug use. Return-to-Duty and Follow-up Testing: For those who have previously tested positive or violated the rules. **Please be aware that excessive fluid intake (more than 24 ounces of water or other fluids within a short period prior to testing) can dilute urine samples, potentially affecting the accuracy of the results. A dilute result may also occur due to certain medical conditions, including but not limited to kidney or liver dysfunction. Chrome Labs is not responsible for diluted, invalid, or inconclusive test results, regardless of the cause. In the event that a specimen is reported as diluted, no refunds or complimentary retests will be provided. Clients may choose to schedule and pay for a new test if desired. All clients are encouraged to maintain normal hydration prior to testing and to avoid excessive fluid consumption to ensure the most accurate test outcome.** Running late? A 15 minute grace period is provided. If the arrival is BEYOND 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment, customer will need to pay for another appointment in full.
